Stick Built Homes

Unlike manufactured or modular homes, which are partially or entirely prefabricated in a factory and then transported to the lot, stick-built construction occurs entirely at the final location.

The typical process includes:

  • Foundation: A concrete foundation (slab, crawlspace, or basement) is poured directly on the property.

  • Framing: The skeletal structure (think walls, floors, and roof trusses) is assembled on the foundation using dimensional lumber (most commonly 2x4 or 2x6 boards).

  • Finishes: Once framed, the home is weatherized, wired for electricity, plumbed, insulated, and finished with interior and exterior materials.
